Preston is located in the county Lancashire of Preston and is the seat of Lancashire county council. In 2002 by Preston was awared "City" status in celebration the Queens Golden Jubilee. Preston is a busy, thriving city. Once home to the first cotton mill in the area, it was here that John Horrocks set up his mill and the town became an important centre of the cotton industry.
